CYA - Whats Up?

13 January 2010

2010 is already shaping up to be a great year - but first - wrapping up 2009.

I have just loaded photo’s from the Conference into the 2009 Photo’s page - if you see yourself and want your name up - please let me know - or  if I have tagged someone incorrectly - shout - loud.

Also, the long awaited notes - sorry it took so long - CYA does rely on volunteers for these and sometimes life doesn’t always sail as calmly as we wish. Thank you to Pam, Natalie & Ashka  and Belinda for these notes. Much appreciated.

Tax invoices have started being emailed out. Please bare with me a little longer while I complete all emails necessary. If you still haven’t received yours by the end of Febrauary, please email CYA and let us know. Hopefully this process will become part of the electronic process for 2010, and this long wait should be eliminated.

The joys of computers and how they can help!

Right - 2010.... Happy New Year everyone!!!! May 2010 be the year your dreams become written in the stars!

Important dates for CYA: Remember to write these in your diary.

Our competition opens 1st February and closes on 30th June 2010.

CYA Conference is being held on 4th September 2010.

We are already working on your stellar lineup for presenters this year, and some of the topics, we hope you will love. If you have an idea for a topic you want to be work-shopped at CYA, drop us an email and let us know.  Alternate, if you have a person you really want to attend, let us know that too - we are always shaping our wish list.

The Aurealis Awards 2009 are being held in Brisbane at 6:30pm, Saturday, 23 January 2010. This is a fabulous event, and if you are in the SEQ, they are worth making the effort to attend. Everyone is always so friendly and there are editors, agents, authors and friends all celebrating together.

A great part of the fun is the recovery breakfast the next day - hopefully we will see you both at the awards and the breakfast.

Other sneak previews at CYA ideas this year:

We are organising merchandise - one item is CYA Shirts for those who want to purchase them, wear them to conference, or about the place...they are in the pipe line. Will keep you posted!

We increased out core working team this year so hello to Belinda Johnson who makes up no 4 in the immediate working team. Naturally, we have loads of other volunteers to help make everything happen, but the main think tank of Tina, Ally, Bec and Belinda attend those all important meetings and bookings etc. Welcome to the team Belinda, and we hope you will be happy with us.

Stay safe and keep writing and illustrating! Do something special in 2010 - spend some time on your craft - its worth it!

CYA later!

Tina & Ally
