On site agent: Jacinta di Mase

27 May 2011

Today we begin releasing the names of the agent and editors who are coming to CYA Conference in 2011.

As you can see, Jacinta di Mase is once again joining us on site in Brisbane. Thank you Jacinta for coming up to our Sunshine State.

For those thinking of booking a face to face professional assessment with Jacinta this year - she is not looking at illustrations or picture books at this time her books are full in these areas. Please don’t waste your money booking with her for those - but if you have quality commercial fiction for younger readers and young adults, those she is actively looking to acquire.

For those of you who don’t know Jacinta already, here is a little about her and Jacinta di Mase Management.

A Literary Agent with more than 17 years experience in the publishing industry Jacinta di Mase Management was founded in January 2004 after ten years working for two of Australia’s premier literary agencies, Australian Literary Management (ALM) and Jenny Darling & Associates.

Jacinta di Mase Management represents a diverse range of authors and illustrators of picture books, children’s and young adult fiction, and fiction and non-fiction titles for the adult trade market. Jacinta works closely with authors to prepare their work for presentation to publishers.

Authors and illustrators on the list include Phil Cummings, Rosanne Hawke, Elise Hurst, Moya Simons, Karen Blair, Pinky McKay, Fiona Capp, and Myfanwy Jones. Recent titles include The Rainy Season by Myfanwy Jones, The Night Garden by Elise Hurst, Parlour Games for Modern Families by Jones and Tsintziras, Marrying Ameera by Rosanne Hawke, Let Me Whisper You My Story by Moya Simons, and The Star League series by H.J Harper.

After attending the CYA conference in 2009 Jacinta signed Aleesah Darlison’s Unicorn Riders series, which will be published by Walker Books in 2011 and Kerri Lane’s YA spoof Dead, Actually due for release with Allen & Unwin in 2012.

Jacinta is looking for quality commercial fiction for younger readers and young adults.

So...the rollout of presenters and onsite professionals has begun. Please do keep checking back to see who else is coming to CYA Conference 2011.
