QWC - Katherine Battersby

It's amazing that in a few short years the number of opportunities for childrens and Young adult writers and illustrators to learn their craft have increased ten-thousand fold. In 2005 I would have given my eye-teeth for an opportunity like this one..and now its on the doorstep…(if you live in South East Queensland).

Katherine’s workshop is perfect for writers and illustrators interested in producing picture books and will focus on the key principles of children’s writing including tone, illustration, language, theme and character, as well as covering how to build your resume and submit work to publishers.

This one-day workshop is open to anyone who is passionate about children’s writing and illustration and wants to develop their understanding of the children’s book industry.

For those who were at CYA Conference this year, you have seen that Katherine has an amazing way of making her picture books, and this is your opportunity to spend more time with her - 6 hours!

Katherine sits proudly on our CYA success page and I am so excited to be attending her launch of book 2 in the Squish Rabbit picture books - Brave Squish Rabbit on 29th September. I can't wait to hop-it-ty on there and see another book baby!

Till next time, keep writing, keep illustrating, keep learning your craft, but most importantly keep your dream alive!
