Angela Meyer is the publisher at Echo Publishing, the Australian imprint of Bonnier Books UK. She started as a commissioning editor in 2014, at the beginning of the Echo imprint. In this role, Angela has published an array of award-winning, bestselling and internationally published authors, including Heather Morris, Emma Viskic, Alison Evans, Bridie Jabour, Meg Keneally and Robert Jeffreys.
Prior to working in publishing, Angela was a book reviewer, book blogger, bookseller (and bartender). Angela is also an author. Her debut novel is A Superior Spectre, which has been shortlisted in the Aurealis and MUD Literary awards, and will be published in the UK in August.
Angela will be looking at crime fiction, historical fiction, general fiction (with a strong narrative drive and great ‘hook’), love stories but not trade romance, narrative nonfiction (must have a very strong hook, relatable to a broad audience, including true crime), speculative fiction with a literary bent but no hard SF, no fantasy. Literary fiction only if high concept, has a strong marketable hook, or has strong tension and narrative drive.
Angela will provide dot point written feedback of the main ‘takeaway’ points.
