Julia is an associate publisher and the managing editor at Black Inc., where she works with some of the country’s best writers. She has also been an editor at Scribe Publications, Penguin and Macmillan. Julia has won two national awards for editing, the Barbara Ramsden and the Rosie Award, and attended the Yale Publishing Course in New Haven. She holds a master in publishing, is on the board at youth literary organisation Express Media, and from 2013 to 2018 taught editing at RMIT University in Melbourne.
Julia will be looking at literary fiction and nonfiction works.
The literary fiction should have a unique and compelling voice, and the nonfiction should have a strong hook in the areas of memoir/biography, politics, environment, lifestyle, travel and humour.
She is not looking for fantasy and sci-fi stories.
Julia will be providing verbal feedback with her assessments
Agent & Editor sessions are only available to conference attendees.
Some editors have withdrawn from the conference due to it being an online-only event.

You may book your session before booking for the conference however there will be a $25.00 administration charge should you decide to cancel the appointment before assessment bookings closing on 15 May 2020
No refunds will be made if you make an assessment booking but do not book for the Conference and your session will be cancelled.
