Julia is an associate publisher and the managing editor at Black Inc., where she works with some of the country’s best writers. She has also been an editor at Scribe Publications, Penguin and Macmillan. Julia has won two national awards for editing, the Barbara Ramsden and the Rosie Award, and attended the Yale Publishing Course in New Haven. She holds a master in publishing, is on the board at youth literary organisation Express Media, and from 2013 to 2018 taught editing at RMIT University in Melbourne.

Julia will be looking at literary fiction and nonfiction works.

The literary fiction should have a unique and compelling voice, and the nonfiction should have a strong hook in the areas of memoir/biography, politics, environment, lifestyle, travel and humour.

She is not looking for fantasy and sci-fi stories.

Julia will be providing verbal feedback with her assessments
