Kate Stevens is a commissioning editor of children’s books at Hachette Australia and a lecturer of Professional Editing at the University of Technology Sydney. Since joining Hachette Australia as an editor in 2010, Kate has worked with some of the most exciting new voices in Australian fiction.
She’s commissioning her own list of children’s and YA titles, focusing on debut authors and artists, including Jennifer Cossins, Victoria Carless, Catherine Pelosi, Mulga the Artist and Sha’an d’Anthes.
Kate will be looking at: Picture books, illustration portfolios, middle grade and Young Adult in her 2019 one on one assessments. She’s particularly interested in non-fiction manuscripts and picture books that tug at the heartstrings.
Kate will be providing verbal feedback with her assessments

You may book your session before booking for the conference however there will be a $25.00 administration charge should you decide to cancel the appointment before assessment bookings closing on 15 May 2020
No refunds will be made if you make an assessment booking but do not book for the Conference and your session will be cancelled.
