Cathy Vallance has over fifteen years’ experience in the publishing industry.
She has worked at the University of Queensland Press since 2012 and was
appointed to the role of Children’s Publisher in 2023. Cathy has worked with
many wonderful authors, including Peter Carnavas, Nova Weetman, Ellen van
Neerven and Zana Fraillon.
Cathy is looking for interesting, unique stories from diverse voices. She loves books that are heartfelt, funny and a little bit different.
She is not looking for picture books about teddy bears or talking animals, chapter books with nasty humour or toilet humour, or genre fiction.
