Ben Long is a writer, comedian, and scientist based in Adelaide, South Australia. After discovering his passion for writing while doing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Queensland, fiction writing is now his obsession. Ben writes fun and quirky stories for children, drawing on his interests in the sciences and arts.
Tom Hermann is an artist and illustrator, also based in Adelaide. Once a physiotherapist, Tom turned to art and illustration, studying a Bachelor of Visual Communication at UniSA to follow his passion. Tom now works in fine art, concept design, fantasy and childrens' illustration.
WHAT CYA CONFERENCE DID FOR ME
Having combined their interests, in 2010 Ben and Tom were awarded 2nd place in the CYA Conference Competition (Graphic Novels & Illustrated Picture Book category), giving them confidence to self-publish their picture book, Tickle Me Zoo.
