I worked in animation before deciding to focus on illustrating stories for children. Over the past 10 years I've been developing a personal style that draws on many influences. I grew up in Brisbane where I went on to study both animation and graphic design, and have also lived abroad in Japan, where my love of beauty, imagination, and craftsmanship were fed by the country's long and rich culture of visual storytelling.
WHAT CYA CONFERENCE DID FOR ME
I first attended CYA in 2019, and again in 2020. My direct exposure to industry professionals helped me to clarify my direction, form and strengthen relationships with like-minded people, and to find the feedback I needed to keep pushing towards my dream.
