WHAT CYA CONFERENCE DID FOR ME
For a number of years CYA gave me the confidence to simply join in, to become part of this wonderful kidlit community.
Eventually, I stepped completely outside my comfort zone and began to send work for assessments. So scary! But what fabulous experience!
Then, it happened. An assessing publisher asked me to email them the revised manuscript ... and a week later I was offered a contract. Thank you Tina and CYA! Without you it would not have happened.
Saving Shark Pup, a narrative nonfiction puicture book, was published by Allen & Unwin in February 2026.
