Thea is a children's book illustrator based on The Mornington Peninsula. She was born in the UK and studied at Falmouth College of Arts, graduating with a BA hons. Her first picture book as both author and illustrator, How To Be a Giraffe, was published by Affirm Press in February 2020.
WHAT CYA CONFERENCE DID FOR ME
I flew up from Melbourne to attend the CYA conference in 2018. I had a fantastic manuscript review with Davina Bell and came away with a possible contract offer for my first picture book as an author. After a further meeting at the Affirm Press office back in Melbourne with Davina and Clair Hume, the contract offer came through early 2019. Just one year later, How To Be a Giraffe was released.
