Jackie French AM is an author, historian, ecologist, dyslexic and part-time honorary wombat, Senior Australian of the Year, 2015 and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland.
Australian Children's Laureate 2014-15, author of about 300 books for every age group from babies to adults, some best-selling and made into plays, musicals and opera, some more likely to be eaten by silverfish. With about 70 national and international awards, the most recent being the Alice Award for a Lifetime Contribution to Australian Literature.
Thankfully, however, she is still not dead, and Becoming Mrs Mulberry (adults) Ming and Hilde Start a Revolution (8-14, Book 3 The Girls Who Change The World series), The Great Gallipoli Escape (10 to adult), THE TURTLE AND THE FLOOD illus by Danny Snell, and Plague with Bruce Whatley, part of their Disaster series for young people, are being released this year.
