Julia is an associate publisher and the managing editor at Black Inc., where she works with some of the country’s best writers. She has also been an editor at Scribe Publications, Penguin and Macmillan. Julia has won two national awards for editing, the Barbara Ramsden and the Rosie Award, and attended the Yale Publishing Course in New Haven. She holds a master in publishing, is on the board at youth literary organisation Express Media, and from 2013 to 2018 taught editing at RMIT University in Melbourne.
