Kate Rossignol began her teaching career after graduating from Brisbane College of Advanced Education with a Diploma of Teaching in 1989. She later completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Southern Queensland in 1996. Over the years, Kate has taught in diverse regions, including North Queensland and the Darling Downs, and in various contexts—large and small schools, across lower and middle primary year levels—before returning to Brisbane.


Between 2011 and 2019, Kate worked part-time at Griffith University, lecturing in education and ethics, sharing her expertise with future educators.


Since 2002, Kate has been an integral part of Gumdale State School, where she became Head of Department – Curriculum (HOD-C) in 2020. In 2021, she broadened her leadership experience as Deputy Principal at Earnshaw College. Currently, Kate serves as HOD-C at Gumdale State School, where she also oversees the school library, fostering a culture of learning and literacy.


An avid reader, Kate is a strong believer in the power of books and the importance of reading to children as a foundation for developing a lifelong love of literacy.
