Sarah Malik is a Walkley-award winning Australian journalist and writer. She has written for The New York Times, Guardian Australia, Saturday Paper and The Sydney Morning Herald. She has also presented and produced documentary radio programs for ABC Radio National on everything from migrant mental health to the rise of white nationalism. She currently works as a senior writer, presenter and editor at SBS. Her work focuses on asylum, domestic violence, class, race, identity, gender and literary memoir. Sarah grew up in western Sydney. She is passionate about voice and forging a space for emerging writers of CALD backgrounds to tell their own stories. 

Her debut collection of memoir stories Desi Girl: On feminism, race, faith and belonging (UQP) is out on August 30.
