PERENTIE PRESS was founded by Bethany Loveridge and Rochelle Stephens in 2025.
At PERENTIE PRESS, we love words and art. We are passionate about crafting visual stories that are hopeful, that unleash imagination, inspire conversation, and that are read, over and over again.
Bethany Loveridge is an arts teacher, curriculum specialist, children’s author, and passionate advocate of the arts. She works as Publisher at PERENTIE PRESS and is always on the lookout for stories which are begging to be told visually.
Bethany is keen to assess graphic novels and graphic novel ideas from author-illustrators and authors-only. She will also look at illustration portfolios from those interested in illustrating a graphic novel. All genres welcome, but Bethany would particularly like to see page-turning adventures, cosy or thrilling mysteries, teen romance and mild horror. She is not a great match for anything too graphic, violent or for toilet-humour.
PERENTIE PRESS only publishes graphic novels for children, so please make sure your story idea is suitable for young readers (5-17). If you are writing a non-fiction graphic novel, please include an explanation of your experience or authority with the topic.
Whether you are a writer with a strong concept but unsure of next steps, or an author-illustrator with a clear visual narrative direction, this Bootcamp is designed to provide practical, actionable guidance.

- A single-spaced synopsis (up to 750 words)
- Manuscript sample (first 2,000 words)
