Kate has been working in the publishing industry for over 15 years, most of those as an editor at Scholastic Australia. In that time, she’s edited picture books, middle grade illustrated fiction and junior fiction—including Ella Diaries, Villain, Dragons vs Wolves, Minutes of Danger, Liars, Super Epic Dragon Quest and Fartboy. Kate also has extensive experience creating books and managing projects for major licensors such as Disney, Marvel, Nickelodeon and DC Comics. Kate’s academic background is in psychology, cultural studies and English.

About the bootcamps
The Bootcamp is a day spent with an editor where you will receive feedback on your work in small group sessions, time to work on your manuscripts followed by a progress session where they will give you further feedback, there is also a discussion panel and a Q&A session.
Places for the Bootcamp are strictly limited to four people per group, with each editor working with two groups.
Groups will be divided into two Picture Books groups.
You do not need to come to the conference to join a bootcamp.
