Pacing - Using Sleeping Beauty to show and understand pacing - For all genres and ages
Pacing is the rhythm of a story. It refers to how slow or fast the story is moving forward. It is governed by the speed and length of a scene that the writer distributes the information: pacing controls, the speed and intensity of your story. Ideally, the writer needs to mix them all together, so you do not lose your readers. Using the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty, Lauren Clarke will examine how the story progresses and ensure you can identify where the ups, lulls, speeding or slowing down occur and why.
