Important Information

Please note that any assessments and bootcamps booked after 15 May for the 2024 conference are non-refundable.

Assessment sessions are 15-minute one-on-one online meetings where you will receive feedback on your manuscript or illustrations which has been pre-read by the editors and agents before your session. 

 

Sessions are on the 29th & 30th of June, and the 13th & 14th of July.

The cost is $100.00 (excluding GST) per assessment and is additional to the cost of the Conference.

There is no limit on the number of sessions you can book.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Important:

  • Assessment sessions are only available to Conference or Bootcamp attendees at this time.

  • Please read the Terms and Conditions​ page for full booking cancellation information.

  • No refunds will be made for assessments booked after 15 May 2024. 

  • No refunds will be made if you make an assessment booking but do not book for the Conference and your session will be cancelled.

  • The schedule times are in Brisbane (Australian Eastern Standard) times

 

Pre-reading Requirement - for all Children’s or Young Adults Manuscripts & Illustration Work:

  • Short BIO on who you are, where you are going in the CYA industry and a photograph of you.

  • Picture books: 2 texts, OR 

  • Novels: 

    • 2,500 words (double-spaced, size 12 font) AND

    • synopsis 600 words (single-spaced, size 12 font)​​

  • Illustrations: 4 – 10 samples, and have your portfolio with you when you start the session.

 

 

Pre-reading Requirement - Adult Literature 

  • Short BIO on who you are, where you are going in the industry and a photograph of you.

  • 2,500 words (double-spaced, size 12 font) AND

  • synopsis 600 words (single-spaced, size 12 font)​​

 

Note: It is preferable to send your work as ONE WORD DOCUMENT, in the order of Name, Picture (6cm height - don't worry if you can't size - we can do that,) BIO and details, then your work for pre-reading.) If you can't manage the combination, that's okay we'll fix like always, but it saves us a lot of time if you do this.

All work must be submitted by 15 May 2024. Work will need to be submitted at the time of registering for any bookings made after 15 May.

 

We are aiming to get your times for your editor/agent sessions to you at least two weeks before the conference.
